The 2026 Michelin stars have been revealed, and the Great Britain & Ireland Guide is brimming with new talent. This year's ceremony in Dublin showcased the rise of two London-based restaurants, Row on 5 and Bonheur by Matt Abé, each earning their second Michelin star. Row on 5, helmed by chefs Jason Atherton and Spencer Metzger, has been a dream to work in, according to Metzger, and Atherton praised his colleague as the next generation of talent. Bonheur by Matt Abé, just three months old, has already earned two stars, thanks to Abé's clear vision, distinctive style, and future ambition, as noted by Michelin international director Gwendal Poullennec. The restaurant's location in Mayfair, London, is significant, as it was once the site of Michel Roux's Le Gavroche, the UK's first three-starred restaurant.
Bonheur's collaboration with chef Gordon Ramsay, who trained at Le Gavroche, adds to its allure. Abé expressed his excitement about continuing the legacy, nurturing talent, and carrying on the tradition. The ceremony also celebrated new one-star restaurants, including Legado in London, Jöro in Sheffield, Maré by Rafael Cagali in Brighton and Hove, Forest Avenue in Dublin, The Pullman in Galway, and two in Scotland: Killiecrankie House near Pitlochry and 1887 in Torridon. 20 restaurants were awarded their first Michelin star this year.
The new two-star restaurants are Row on 5 and Bonheur by Matt Abé, both in London. However, no new three-star restaurants were awarded this year, as all current three-starred restaurants retained their stars. The Michelin Guide 2026 also highlights Michelin green stars, Special Awards, and new Bib Gourmands, as well as restaurants that lost stars.
